Rohith S. Katbamna

At 17 years old, Rohith's first project aired on BBC TWO. This was shortly followed by 2 film awards presented to him by Oscar Winning Producer - David Puttnam. Rohith went on to study TV Production at Bournemouth University and Cinematography at Ryerson University (Toronto, Canada) before earning a Distinction for his Master’s Degree in TV Journalism from Goldsmiths, University of London.

His ventures outside of the news and creative industry have seen an 11-year career in Taekwon-Do from the age of 7, culminating with National and European Championship titles as well as representing Team GB at the World Championships in Argentina, where he competed for the World Junior Featherweight title. He has also carried his focus and passion into volunteer work with at-risk youth through intervention and reparation schemes for several years.

Rohith has worked extensively on acclaimed productions for Channel 4, BBC and IFC. His work across Cameroon as a photojournalist has been published in Finland's largest newspaper - Helsingin Sanomat. His hard-hitting documentary, ‘Hooking in JoBurg’, largely shot on location in Hillbrow, South Africa, earned him recognition at festivals, including the One World Media Awards. Rohith’s drama series, ‘PREMature’ also had the distinction of being the largest acquisition and first fiction based content for Together TV; a TV miniseries initially funded through Kickstarter, raising over £35,000 from the public. The series earned him a BAFTA Breakthrough nomination.

Rohith's latest work has seen him evolve with his debut novel, 'Down and Rising'. A challenging work with experimental structuring and an immersive reader experience. What has been dubbed as a hybrid novel, has now developed an international readership.

Late 2023 will mark the release of his second novel, 'Gulab'. A meditative urban noir.
